After Care

A new tattoo is an open wound. Rest and staying hydrated are helpful for healing. Remove bandage, after approximately 2 hours, in the shower and wash with antibacterial soap. Pat dry and apply a dime sized amount of Aquaphor/A&D ointment, and keep it chapstick thick. Wash tattoo 1-2 times a day, applying ointment afterward for 1 week switch to a non scented lotion after that. Temporary discomfort, tenderness, bruising, pimples, dryness, swelling or redness can occur and are normal in healing.

  • Always wash hands before touching the tattoo

  • Wear loose comfortable clothing over the area of the tattoo allowing it to breathe

  • Drink plenty of water

  • Keep the tattoo clean and flexible

  • Do not pick scabs or skin.

  • Try to sleep in clean bedding, and keeping pets and debris away from the new tattoo

  • Avoid direct sun exposure while tattoo is healing

  • Refrain from exercise, swimming, and soaking during active healing


Piercing

After Care

A new piercing is a wound. Rest and staying hydrated are helpful for healing. The new piercing should be cleaned twice daily, with a sterile saline wound wash, not contact or nasal solutions. To clean the piercing, wash hands thoroughly with an anti microbial soap, spray or soak piercing directly with saline twice daily, for 5 minutes each time, for the duration of your suggested heal time. For oral Piercing rinse with distilled water and non iodized salt mix ever 2-4 hours daily for the duration of your suggested heal time. Rinse for a minimum 0f 60 seconds to loosen and flush away any trapped particles of food debris. Purchase a new toothbrush and only use alcohol free mouthwash, clean well after meals. Do not touch your piercing or jewelry, twist turn or rotate your jewelry. Do not sleep on your piercing during your healing. Don’t allow oral or bodily fluids in contact with your piercing. Do not allow your piercing come in contact with harsh facial cleaners, lotions, moisturizers, or makeup. No submerging your piercing in any body of water including ocean, lakes, rivers, pools, hot tubs, and bathtubs. What’s normal; redness, swelling, itchiness, mild spot-bleeding, produce a fluid that forms a gold or yellow colored crust.
